Our Directors
Joeseph Spiecker
Valley Forge Chorus is pleased to introduce our new Musical Director: Joseph Spiecker
Joe is a twelve-time Gold Medalist in State, Regional and International Chorus Competitions
(four International Gold medals in a row) with the Vocal Majority in Dallas, Texas. He
has arranged many songs that were recorded by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Vocal Majority
(11 time International Gold Medalist Chorus) and Ambiance (International Champion Quartet).
He has written an original symphony and plays many instruments. He was the Show Creator and
Producer of Vocal Majority shows for over ten years.
Joe has directed women's choruses since 1990 and won 8th place in international contest with the
Greater Dallas Chorus. He founded The Dallas Company Chorus of SAI and, in 1994, he took Valley
Forge Chorus to regional competition as a guest-director.
Joe has coached quartets and choruses from coast to coast and brings a wealth of experience in music,
staging and performance to the Valley Forge Chorus.
His greatest accomplishment, however, is his daughter, Navy.
Assistant Directors
Dottie Keefer
When Dottie, Assistant Certified Director, is not directing the chorus, you'll find her smack dab
in the middle of the chorus,
literally and figuratively! She is assistant bass section leader, a member of the music team and the
PVI (Personal Vocal
Instruction) team. She is in charge of the audition process for the chorus and determines voice placement
for all
prospective members. As if those responsibilities are not enough, Dottie has been the Show Chair,
as well as the
Show Program Chair of the Valley Forge Chorus Annual Show for many years
Gail Allebach
Gail has been a member of the Valley Forge Chorus for approximately 15 years. She became Lead Section
Leader
in January 1995 and shortly thereafter was named Assistant Director.
Gail achieved her Director Certification and is very education-oriented, having been trained as a
teacher in
college and continuing to expand her musical knowledge through educational opportunities in the Sweet
Adelines
International organization. She attended the International Educational Symposium in 2000 and 2001.
In 2000, she
organized the Personal Vocal Instruction program for Valley Forge and continues to be the driving
force behind the
program.
Gail works for Verizon Communications in the Finance department, has two daughters, two grandsons,
sings
and plays bells in her church choirs, and is an avid tennis player
