Joseph Spiecker  -   Master Director

Our charismatic leader, Joseph Spiecker began directing the Valley Forge Chorus in 2008 and in 2017 he led us to win the Region 19 Division AA Mid-Size and Overall Champion Chorus awards.

Joe began directing Sweet Adelines in Dallas in 1991. Under his guidance, the Greater Dallas Chorus rose to 8th in the SAI competition.  In 1993 Joe began coaching Valley Forge and in 1994 he commuted from Dallas to Philadelphia to direct us in Regional competition.

During his years in Texas he sang with, wrote shows for, and arranged music for the 11- time International Gold Medalist Chorus, the Vocal Majority. The VM has recorded over 20 albums and sung before every President since Reagan.

Joe is also an accomplished composer and arranger. His creative vocal charts have been performed and recorded by many groups including the Vocal Majority, Ambiance and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Joe's warmth, humor, teaching skills and musical ear have made him a coach in high demand for quartets and choruses throughout our region and around the country. He loves music theory, Rubik's cubes, America's Cup Sailing and mathematical mind teasers. He plays several instruments and is passionate about Drum and Bugle Corps.

Joe has had an eclectic career. After majoring in Exploration Geophysics at Penn State, he went to work in the petroleum industry. Eventually he founded an oil company, which owned properties from Texas to Morocco. He developed cutting-edge courtroom presentation techniques while building a Trial Consulting Firm. He is a stock scalper, a writer and a graphic designer.

Despite his other accomplishments, if you ask Joe, he is most proud of his daughter Navy, whom he has raised alone since she was three.
